“New Frontiers in Media Localization”
Prepare to embark on a journey into the future at the Languages & The Media Conference 2024, where we will explore the overarching theme of "New Frontiers in Media Localization."
For its 15th edition, Languages & The Media is discovering new frontiers and will be hosted in Budapest. Embark on this journey with us! After so many years in Berlin, we are very excited about this change of location and hope you'll be joining us in this new adventure!
After a surge of audiovisual content on streaming platforms during the pandemic, followed by content owners‘ cutting back on spending, and some of the longest Hollywood strikes the industry has witnessed, new media landscapes are emerging. On this occasion, we will explore new and existing industry practices, discuss cutting-edge developments and innovations, and hear about pioneering research. Technology is bound to take centre stage and we will explore the role of AI-driven products and workflows, which might give us a glimpse into the workplace and jobs of the future. Together we will ponder the questions: What will media localization look like tomorrow, as AI and human intelligence forge new pathways? And what is the role of creativity in this new age of media localization?
Join us for three days of pre-conference workshops, panel discussions and presentations from experts and analysts to explore the pivotal role of continuing professional development and certification in the professionalisation of our industry; to champion equality, diversity and participation; to learn more about viewer preferences; to celebrate the artistry of subtitling and dubbing and discuss how to best manage quality in a technology-driven market. The Languages & The Media Conference 2024 is your platform to be part of this transformative dialogue; a nexus for thought leaders, content owners, language service providers, technology developers, educators, researchers, and language professionals, shaping the future of media localization. We look forward to welcoming you in a new venue to re-connect, share insights and experiences and unlock new potential in this dynamic field.
